Bio
Jan Hejátko leads the Functional Genomics and Proteomics of Plants research group at CEITEC Masaryk University. His work focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating plant growth and development, with an emphasis on the interactions between hormones such as auxins and cytokinins. The outcomes of his research have the potential to contribute to the development of stress-resistant crops and improved yields.
The group employs advanced technologies, including automated and confocal microscopy, to closely monitor protein localization and dynamics. Discoveries made by Jan Hejátko’s team have been published in leading international scientific journals.
Jan Hejátko studied genetics and molecular biology at Masaryk University, during his Ph.D. studies he spent 3 years at the Max-Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne, Germany in Klaus Palme research group.
