At the opening ceremony of the ALC'17 Conference in Kauai, Hawaii, Peter Varga received the 141th Award of the Committee for Microbiological Analysis of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) as "... his significant contribution to elucidating surface phenomena by exploring the atomic level and developing new functional materials" .
Varga works at CEITEC in the Nanoscience Preparation and Characterization Group, and also at the Institute of Physical Engineering of the Technical University of Technology.
